I've been a mother for a year now, and I'm the worst version of myself.

Not only did I become a mother for the first time, but I also became a mother for the first time after years of thinking I would never take on this role. My husband was told he was infertile, and for seven years it seemed as if this diagnosis was true—until I finally became pregnant after all those years.

Just as I was trying to adjust to my new role, going through the biggest changes of life with a baby, my father passed away.

I am incredibly grateful that he got to know Pablo, but I will be forever saddened by the fact that my father is no longer here.

He was the best, and I will miss him forever.
