How to Use WampServer | Set Up & Use WAMPServer on Windows PC to Use PHP on LocalHost
WampServer is web development environment that allows you to create web applications with Apache, PHP and mySql database. It comes with phpMyAdmin to manage databases easily. Search for wampserver and you will find its website. Download wampserver. It's better to install it in drive other that C drive. You can choose to install selected components for wamp server like PHP version, mariaDB version, mySql version and so on or you can choose default installation.
During installation wamp may ask you to choose default web browser and code editor. Specify your preferred web browser and code editor during installation. WAMP has got www folder as root directory for the server. This is the localhost. To start wamp server, click at start icon from Windows and type wamp. Select wamp from suggestions.
From the taskbar you will see localserver icon 'w' and if it is green, that means wamp is running after you have started wampserver, open up your favorite web browser and browse to localhost. Default page for wamp server will appear. I like to create projects folder in www directory. I keep my projects in project folder. In the video we downloaded wamp, installed it and ran a PHP file by using localhost on local machine.
WAMP comes with phpMyAdmin to manage databases. When you will create databases those will be listed in phpMyAdminhere you can also create more databases by clicking at this link databases and from here you will name the database here test db and then hit this create button and this database was created now you can create table in this database and perform more operations when you are done using Wamp you will have to stop running services for PHP. Right click wamp icon from the taskbar and then select exit. Once you exit wamp server, dynamic page created in PHP will not work at localhost. This is how you install wamp, use wamp and then stop wamp server.
