How to FIX Fortnite Launch Error Easy Anti-Cheat Is Not Installed
Getting the *Fortnite Launch Error Easy Anti-Cheat Is Not Installed*? This means the anti-cheat service is missing or corrupted, blocking the game from starting. Follow these steps to properly repair or reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) and launch Fortnite successfully.
First, run the Epic Games Launcher as an administrator. Then, navigate to your Fortnite installation folder (e.g., `Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64`). Locate the `EasyAntiCheat` folder, open it, and run `EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe` as administrator. In the setup window, ensure "Fortnite" is selected and click "Repair Service."
If the error persists, verify the integrity of Fortnite's game files through the Epic Launcher. Right-click Fortnite in your library, select "Manage," and click "Verify." This process will check for missing or corrupted files, including EAC components, and automatically replace them.
Your antivirus or firewall may have quarantined or blocked the Easy Anti-Cheat installation. Temporarily disable your security software and attempt to launch the game. If successful, add the entire `EasyAntiCheat` folder and `FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe` to your antivirus and firewall exception/allow lists.
As a final measure, perform a clean reinstall of Fortnite. Uninstall the game via the Epic Launcher, manually delete any leftover `FortniteGame` and `EasyAntiCheat` folders in the installation directory, and then reinstall. This ensures a completely fresh installation of both the game and its anti-cheat.
