In this session you will learn about Load data from CSV or EXCEL files and Databases

Application Flow
-----------------------
Create a Qlikview Document
File - new (or) Ctrl + N
Save the QV Document
File - Save (or) Ctrl + S
Go to Edit Script
File - Edit Script (or) Ctrl + E
Loading Tables
Table Files - Useful to Load Tables from Text,CSV,Excel Files etc...
ODBC/OLEDB - useful to Load Tables from Databases
Executing The Qlikview Document
File - Reload (or) Ctrl + R
Checking the Data Model
Go to Table Viewer
File - Table Viewer (or) Ctrl + T
Prepare Visualizations
Adding Sheet Objects on Sheet

QWT.mdb (Access DB) Relational DB

Creating ODBC Connection for 32 Bit

Go to Control Panel
System and Security(xp)
(or)
Administrative Tools
ODBC Data Sources (32 Bit) (Windows 8)
ODBC Data Sources (64 Bit)
(or)
Data Sources ODBC (xp,win 7)
Data Source Administrator window will be opened
Under user DSN Tab, Click on 'Add' Button
Select Appropriate ODBC Driver(Microsoft Access Driver *.mdb,*.accdb)
Finish
Give Data Source name(evng7pm)
Select the Database File(QWT.mdb) by clicking on SELECT Button
ok - ok - ok

Creating ODBC Connection for 64 Bit
----------------------------------------------------
Go to C: Drive
Windows Folder
SysWOW64 Folder
Search for odbcad32.exe file and open
Data Source Administrator window will be opened
Under user DSN Tab, Click on 'Add' Button
Select Appropriate ODBC Driver(Microsoft Access Driver *.mdb,*.accdb)
Finish
Give Data Source name(evng7pm)
Select the Database File(QWT.mdb) by clicking on SELECT Button
ok - ok - ok

Difference between ODBC and OLEDB?

ODBC

We can Load Tables from Relational Databases only like Oracle,SQL Server,DB2,MySQL, Access etc...
We cannot Load Tables from unstructured Data Sources like NoSQL Data Sources(Mongo DB)
We cannot Load Tables from very initial versions of Relational Databases
Older - Slow

OLEDB
----------
In addition to all Relational Data Sources we can tables from Unstructured Data Sources also
We can Load Tables from very initial versions of Relational Databases also
Latest - Fast

Difference between SQL SELECT and Preceding Load

SQL SELECT

If we Load Table by using SQL SELECT Statement to make any changes or transformations to the source table, we need to use native Database functions like Oracle,SQL SERVER,DB2,MySQL etc...

Preceding Load
----------------------
If we Load Table by using Preceding Load Statement to make any changes or transformations to the source table, we can use Qlikview Functions.
Don't need to depend on native Database functions
