Hi, this is Matt, and this is another video on how to do things in Letterboxd. Today, I'm going to show you how to edit your profile.
I'm right here on my profile on Letterboxd, and I’m going to start by clicking the Edit Profile button, which you'll find on desktop. Once we’ve clicked that, we’re presented with a screen that shows the different sections where we can adjust our profile settings.
Starting with general profile information, you’ll see options to change your username by clicking the Edit Username button. Below, we can fill in Given Name and Family Name if you want to display those. There's also Email Address options to control notifications, and an area to add a Website link. This can be useful if you want to direct people to your social media or your personal website.
There’s also a Bio section where you can add a short description about yourself. Use this to talk about your favorite movies, likes, dislikes, or anything else you want to share with other users on Letterboxd.
Further down, we have Pronouns options and a setting for Posters. You can choose to display posters from others or your own on your profile. Then, for Replies, there are options on how you want to handle comments or replies on your posts.
When you're done making these changes, just click the Save Changes button at the bottom.
Next, there’s Password Information for updating your password, and you can also enable Two-Factor Authentication for added security.
For your Avatar or profile picture, click on Change Avatar. This will allow you to upload a new profile picture from your computer. You can also set a Backdrop if you're a Patreon member.
Moving over to Connections, you can link your profile to Facebook or X (formerly Twitter). Then we have Notification Settings with a lot of options to customize how and when you get alerts on Letterboxd.
Under Stores and Streaming, you can select your location and choose your preferred streaming services, powered by JustWatch. This helps in keeping track of where to find films you're interested in.
Lastly, there’s a Data section, which is especially useful if you’re looking to import a CSV from IMDb or TMDb. Letterboxd lets you export your own data too, providing files for your diary, reviews, and other activity, which can be handy if you want to keep a backup.
