How To Create A Ragdoll Simulation In 3ds Max - 3D VFX Tutorial

In this 3ds Max tutorial I show how to do Ragdoll simulations using the MassFX engine. You can use this technique with a 3d scanned model of your actor to achieve some very interesting ragdoll effects for film and VFX.

To start your Ragdoll in Sleeping mode you have to select each bone and set them to Start In Sleeping mode using the MassFX Tools options. Not sure why you cannot select all the bones and enable this setting. Let me know if you find any other way of doing this :)

You can download the OBJ of the body I used in this tutorial here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7G8...

Any questions regarding 3dsmax ragdoll simulations please ask away in the comments below and I will try my best to answer.

Let me know if there is any specific tutorial you would like to see on this channel.
