Hey everyone, it's Matt here. Today, I'm gonna dive straight into how to change your Reddit username, or more accurately, how you can't.
That's right, once your Reddit username is set, it's set for good. No changing it.
But don't worry, I've got a workaround for you. So, let's prove this point real quick.
If you go to your Reddit profile and hit 'Settings,' you'll see options to change your email, phone number, even your gender, but nowhere will you find an option to change your username. For instance, on this account I'm using, called Destiny Song 766, there's just no way to switch up that username.
But here's what you can do: create a new account. It's pretty straightforward.
You just log out of your current account, hit the sign-up button, and go through the process of creating a new account with a new email. Then, you can choose a new username, assuming it's not already taken by someone else.
And just like that, you've got yourself a new Reddit identity. Now, a heads-up, when you make a new account, you're starting from scratch.
That means you lose all your post history, comments, and any karma you've racked up. So, if your current account has a lot of history or karma, you might want to think twice before switching.
I hope this clears things up for those of you looking to change your Reddit username but found out you can't. If you found this video helpful, give it a like and don't forget to subscribe for more tips and tricks.
