Hey guys, Matt here, and today, I'm walking you through how to get the classic editor on WordPress. As you may know, recent WordPress versions use the Gutenberg editor by default. While some may like it, others find it a bit confusing or just prefer the old setup. I’m one of those people, so I get it if you’re looking to go back to a more familiar editing interface.
So, let me show you how to make the switch. Right now, we’re in the WordPress dashboard, and all we need to do is go to the sidebar, scroll down to "Plugins," and click on "Add New." Once we’re on the plugins page, WordPress makes it super simple to find the classic editor plugin—it's right here on the main screen. So, we’ll click “Install Now,” and after it’s done installing, we’ll click “Activate.”
Now that the plugin is active, the classic editor should be set as the default. If we go over to “Posts” and click “Add New,” we’ll see the editor we all know and love—the original classic editor with its toolbar and simpler layout.
So, that's all it takes to bring back the classic editor on WordPress! Hopefully, this makes editing easier and more intuitive for you. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next video.
