Hey everyone, it's Matt, and today I'm going to show you how to enable dark mode on Google Chrome. I just updated my browser for another video, so let’s dive right in.
First, you need to look at the top of your Chrome window. You'll see three dots, which is the universal symbol for more options.
Click on those dots and scroll down to find the settings option, represented by a gear icon. Once you're in the settings menu, we want to focus on the appearance section.
About halfway down the sidebar on the left, you’ll see the appearance option. Click on that, and it’ll take you to the appearance settings.
Here, right at the top, you'll find the theme section. Click on "theme," and a new panel will pop up on the side.
In this panel, you'll see a variety of themes to choose from. You can even use the color picker if you want to customize your theme further.
But since we’re focusing on dark mode, find the option labeled "dark" in the middle of the list. Clicking on that will instantly activate dark mode—no need to hit save or anything.
Once you do this, you’ll notice that the entire interface changes to a darker theme. If you reload the page, you’ll see that it stays in dark mode, giving you that dark background instead of the usual light one.
If you ever want to switch back to light mode, just repeat the steps: go back to the theme settings and select "light mode" or "device setting" if you want it to match your system preferences. And that’s it!
