the majority of solar operated things I buy have plastic solar panels whether it be a solar-powered torch that is supposed to mimic fire or the majority of outdoor solar garden lights, most of my solar fountains do have glass panels so this won't be a problem but the one I pointed out in the pond is only a $12 Fountain so it would make sense that would be made with a cheap plastic panel, despite the panel turning white it still functions okay but could this tape really save its operation longer? will this tape be able to beat that one thing being out multiple years? we will find out but these things take time, sometimes it takes multiple years for the panel to even turn white. surprising enough Dollar Tree sells solar lights and they all have glass panels and they almost always Outlast the more expensive ones from other stores, I have some of those things still functioning after five years of extreme cold not bringing them inside and they still work really nice. so unless you're looking for something special those cheap dollar lights do awesome, since Dollar Tree brought their prices to $1.25, you can still buy these lights for $0.98 at Walmart with the glass solar panel
