Hi, this is Matt, and this is a quick video on creating a YouTube Community post. Whether you want to create a post or a poll, this video will show you exactly how to do it. I’m right here on my channel dashboard for my Film Lifestyle channel. So, first, we’re going to go up here and click on our account and then select “Your Channel.”
There are a few different ways to get to your channel, of course. I’m showing you how to go from YouTube Studio, but if you’re already on your channel page, that’s fine as well.
Once we’re on our channel page, we have several options here: Home, Videos, Playlists, which I’m sure you’re familiar with, and we want this button right here: “Community.” So, we’ll click on Community, and that will open up the Community screen.
This is the Community tab on your YouTube channel, where you can see all of your previous posts made on this channel. At the top, we have the option to simply ask a question. For example, we could say, “How are you guys doing today?” Clicking the “Post” button will immediately share that with your community.
That’s a simple option if you just want to do a quick text post, something like, “What are you planning to watch this weekend?” or “What’s a good film recommendation?”
Now, we can also add an image by clicking “Add Image” and selecting one from your computer. Here, for example, I’ve done a post with a Hollywood actor question. You can also create an image poll, which lets you have multiple options alongside images – maybe asking, “Who is this actor?” or something similar.
For a text poll, we can type in a question and add several options, as I’ve done here with this genre-based question. Additionally, you can create a quiz, where there’s a correct answer. You add your answer options and mark the correct one. Lastly, you can also add a video here.
