How to Install XAMPP on macOS in 2024 | Complete Beginner's Guide
Step 1: Download XAMPP
Visit the XAMPP official website.
Click on the "XAMPP for OS X" link to download the installer.
Step 2: Install XAMPP
Once the download is complete, open the .dmg file.
A new window will appear. Drag the XAMPP icon to the Applications folder.
After copying, go to the Applications folder and double-click the XAMPP icon to launch the installer.
Step 3: Set Up XAMPP
The XAMPP control panel will open. You can start the services (Apache, MySQL, etc.) from here.
Start the Apache server and MySQL by clicking on the "Start" buttons next to them.
To verify, open a web browser and go to http://localhost. You should see the XAMPP welcome page.
Step 4: Test Your Installation
To test your installation, create a PHP file in the htdocs folder located in /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs.
