Hey everyone, it’s Matt, and today I’m going to show you how to delete your Threads account. I’m logged into my Threads account right now, and the first thing we need to do is look for the two lines icon, which is the universal "more" symbol you might recognize from Instagram and other Meta products.
Once you find that, go ahead and click on it to open the menu. The third option down is "Settings," so let’s click on that.
You can do this on the mobile app too, but I find it’s easier to show you on desktop. Now, on the sidebar, we want to scroll down to "Account," which is the third option again.
Click on that, and then you’ll see "Deactivate or Delete Profile" as the third option once more. When you click on that, you’ll see two choices: "Deactivate Profile" or "Delete Profile." Just a quick note here—deactivating is temporary, but deleting is permanent.
Since we’re focusing on deleting your Threads profile, go ahead and click on "Delete Profile."
After that, you’ll get a final confirmation message. To proceed, you’ll need to enter your Instagram password right here.
This is a crucial step because deleting your account is permanent, so make sure you really want to do this. Once you’ve entered your password, just hit that big red button that says "Delete Threads Profile." And just like that, your Threads account will be deleted permanently.
