By subscribing, you are telling YouTube, to give you an update every time that channel uploads new content. When you subscribe to channels, you are letting YouTube know what you like. YouTube will continue to give you updates when your channel subscriptions upload new content, but it will also start suggesting other channels that you might like too. Each time you use YouTube, you are giving it information that it can use to tailor your experience. YouTube uses your channel subscriptions as well as your likes and watch history to suggest videos and channels it thinks you’ll enjoy.
