The Crucifix in Phasmophobia is a PREVENTIVE tool. It only works to stop a ghost hunt BEFORE it happens. After a hunt has already started, it will not save you. Run and hide!
The Crucifix in Phasmophobia has an effect with a radius of 3 meters ( or about 10 feet ). If a ghost was about to hunt and happens to spawn within the radius of a Crucifix, the hunt will be stopped before it even happens. Only for the Banshee ghost type will the radius be 5 meters ( about 15 feet ), instead of 3 meters, because the Banshee has a weakness to the Crucifix.
Be tactical with the use of Crucifixes, because each Crucifix can only prevent a maximum of 2 hunts before disappearing. And with only the ability to take with you a maximum of 2 Crucifixes on each contract, you can potentially prevent a maximum of 4 hunts. So be smart about it!
