!!! Get VIM !!!
sudo apt-get install vim
!!! Alias VIM !!!
echo "alias vi='vim'" DOUBLE_ANGLE_BRACKETS ~/.bashrc
!!! Apply the Alias !!!
source ~/.bashrc
Two Primary Modes:
Command Mode (includes colon : commands)
Insert Mode
Three Required Commands:
i = Insert Text
[ESC]:q!
Leave insert mode, enter a colon-command, quit, do NOT save
[ESC]:wq
Leave insert mode, enter a colon-command, quit, SAVE
Useful Commands: (in COMMAND MODE)
a = append
o = open a new line
d = delete, used with a number or just another d
d100d = delete 100 lines
u = undo
p = put a line
/ = find: /hello will find the word "hello"
:%s/original/replacement/g = replace text
