Stop Using OBS Default Mic Settings (Do This Instead)
If your OBS mic settings are still at default, your recordings will sound flat, thin, and echoey. OBS mic filters aren't applied automatically; it just records raw audio, background noise, and all.
In this video, I walk you through the 3 built-in OBS filters that will make your mic sound clean and professional — no extra software needed. I'll show you the exact settings for each one, the order they have to go in, and the one gain staging step most tutorials skip that makes all the difference.
Note: I intentionally left my own background noise in the recording so you can hear the filters actually working in real time.

→ Noise Suppression: Method = RNNoise
→ Compressor: Ratio 3:1 | Threshold -18dB | Attack 2ms | Release 150ms | Output Gain +3dB
→ Limiter: Threshold -3dB | Release 60ms
→ Filter order: Noise Suppression → Compressor → Limiter
