Make Boom Bap - How To (Tutorial) Hard | Ableton Live *2022* NEW
How to make a grimy boom bap type beat. In this video I'm making a hard boom bap beat in Ableton Live 11. Learning how to make old school boom bap beats doesn't need to be a challenge. You just need to study the sounds and aesthetic that you want to achieve. I recorded this video to show you that it can actually be quite simple to come up with a classic Mobb Deep style boom bap hip hop type beat if you follow my simple tutorial in Ableton Live 11.
In this tutorial I go over how you can successful get a hard drums similar to something Havoc might have made for Mobb Deep back in the day. I also touch on how to layer instruments, drums and samples to make your beats more interesting. Sampling is a great way to achieve the Mobb Deep boom bap style in your beats similar to what Havoc might have produced for them. I think anyone from the Mobb would bar up on this hard boom bap type beat instrumental.
Although this beat was created in Ableton Live 11 you can use the same methods and ideas in any DAW. Including Maschine, Akai MPC, Logic, Pro Tools, FL Studio and literally any other program you can think of. Hip Hop is Hip Hop no matter how it is created!
