▬▬▬▬ Video Transcript ▬▬▬▬

Hey, it's Matt here, and today I'm gonna show you how to delete your Reddit account. Maybe you've got another account or you're just ready to say goodbye to Reddit for some reason.

I'm here to guide you through that process. So, I'm logged into a random account I have for demonstration.

First thing you'll do is click on your avatar or profile picture at the top. Then, you're going to want to head down to 'Settings'.

By default, you'll land on the 'Account' tab. Scroll down to the bottom, and you'll find an 'Advanced' section with the option to 'Delete Account'.

I'm doing this on the desktop version of Reddit, by the way. If you're on mobile, the steps are pretty similar, but the layout might be a bit different.

Also, I'm using the new Reddit, which is the default for new accounts. The old Reddit has a slightly different way of navigating to these options.

When you click on 'Delete Account', Reddit will ask for a final confirmation. They'll let you know that deleting your account removes your profile and username permanently.

However, your posts, comments, and messages won't be deleted; they'll just no longer be linked to your username. If you want those gone, you'll have to delete them manually before proceeding with the account deletion.

If you've ever seen a post or comment with a 'deleted' username, that's what happens when someone deletes their account without removing their posts and comments first. Some choose to leave their contributions behind anonymously, but if you prefer to wipe everything, you've got to do that part yourself.

Reddit might ask you why you're leaving, which is optional. It's just them gathering some user feedback.

Then, you'll need to enter your username and password one last time to confirm it's really you. Make sure to tick the box acknowledging that deleted accounts can't be recovered.

If you're sure, hit 'Delete', and your account will be gone for good. Remember, this won't remove your posts and comments unless you've already taken care of that.

I hope this tutorial on how to delete your Reddit account helps you out. If it did, drop a like and let me know in the comments.
