Hey everyone, it's Matt! Today, I'm going to show you how to underline text in Google Docs.
I've got an untitled document open with some random text that I copied and pasted just for this demo. To underline text, first, you need to highlight the section, sentence, or word you want to underline.
Once you've highlighted it, look at the toolbar at the top. You’ll see options for bold, italics, and underline.
Click on the "U" that represents underline, and just like that, your text is underlined! If you want to underline just one word, the process is the same.
Highlight the word and click on the underline button. You can also underline an entire paragraph by highlighting all the text you want to include and then clicking the underline button.
Now, if you don’t see the underline option in your toolbar, don’t worry! It should be there by default, but if it’s missing, you can still access it.
Just click on “Format” in the menu, hover over “Text,” and then select “Underline.” You’ll also see the keyboard shortcut listed there. If you're using a Mac, that could be really handy!
For those who prefer using shortcuts, you can use the keyboard shortcut to underline text without having to click through the menu. This can save you some time if you’re working on a lot of documents.
In most cases, though, the underline tool will be right there in the toolbar, making it super easy to use. That's all there is to it!
