After Effects CC 2023: How To Use Track Mattes in After Effects

This tutorial will show you how to use Track Mattes in Adobe After Effects CC 2023 to place textures inside of Shape Layers.

How To Use Track Mattes in After Effects CC 2023:
1. Open Composition with multiple layers including a Shape Layer & Texture Layer (still or animated)
2. Select Texture Layer
3. Go to Track Matte Column (right-click and select ‘Modes’ if Track Matte column is not visible)
4. Click on drop-down and select the Shape Layer
5. Toggle on visibility of Shape Layer
6. Change Blend Mode of Shape Layer to ‘Add’
